Hyderabad, Sep 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, extended his unwavering support to the esteemed Women's Archery Champion Chikitha Taniparthi on Monday, pledging comprehensive training aimed at securing medals in the upcoming Olympic Games.
Chikitha made history as the first Indian compound archer to claim the women’s under-21 individual title at the World Youth Archery Championships, where she triumphed with a gold medal during the 2025 event hosted in Canada.
Furthermore, she earned a silver medal in the Senior World Cup team event that took place in Shanghai, China.
The Chief Minister’s Office revealed that the World Archery champion visited CM Revanth Reddy for a courtesy meeting.
During their discussion, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritizing sports development in the state. He stated that athletes aiming for Olympic success will receive substantial encouragement.

A resident of Sultanpur village, located in Eligaid Mandal of Peddapalli district, Telangana, the 20-year-old Chikitha made history as the first Indian compound archer to achieve this prestigious title.
Before her foray into archery, Chikitha was a karate black belt holder. She has also earned the title of World Cup Stage team silver medalist, overcoming Paula Diaz Morillas, the European youth champion from Spain, with a score of 142-133 during the semifinals of the World Youth Archery Championships.
In the finals, she bested Asian Grand Prix silver medalist Park Yerin with a score of 142-136, marking her first international medal in an individual competition.
