Kolkata, Oct 4 (NationPress) A striking social media post by Kunal Ghosh, the general secretary of Trinamool Congress (TMC), has unveiled potential rifts within the party, sparking renewed political speculation regarding escalating infighting in West Bengal's ruling party.
In his post, Ghosh subtly criticized certain senior leaders for adopting a “silent mode” when the party faced pressing challenges at the state level.
Ghosh highlighted that only the members of the TMC’s Information Technology cell have persistently stood up for the party online during contentious moments.
He asserted that the IT cell members have actively defended the party, the state government, and party leader Mamata Banerjee, even as many senior leaders chose to remain mute on crucial issues.
“This message is particularly for the members of the TMC IT cell and various individuals who tirelessly support the party on social media. Numerous YouTubers are also playing a role through their channels. While several senior leaders have opted for silence, these social media advocates consistently defend the party, the leadership, and the government. I wish you a joyous Vijaya Dashami. Your efforts are invaluable to the party's cause,” Ghosh remarked in his post.
This isn’t the first instance of Ghosh addressing senior leaders, accusing them of not defending the party during times of crisis.
Last year, amidst turmoil over the RG Kar rape and murder case, Ghosh similarly condemned senior leaders for their silence, shirking their duty to defend the party and the state administration against widespread criticism.
As of this report's publication, there has been no formal response from TMC leadership regarding Ghosh’s comments.
