Did Tollywood Bid Farewell to Veteran Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao?

Hyderabad, July 13 (NationPress) Renowned personalities from Tollywood gathered to pay their final tributes to the legendary actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who sadly passed away on Sunday.

Among those who visited Kota's residence to offer their condolences were Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, and Babu Mohan.

The film industry stalwarts laid floral tributes and extended comfort to the grieving family.

Srinivasa Rao succumbed to a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of over 750 films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, during his illustrious career that spanned more than four decades. He was 83 years old.

The final rites are scheduled to take place later today at Maha Prasthanam in Jubilee Hills.

Former Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu also paid his respects to the esteemed actor.

Veteran actors Brahmanandam and Babu Mohan were visibly emotional as they paid tribute, reflecting on their long-standing friendship with Srinivasa Rao.

Babu Mohan expressed his sorrow, stating he felt as if he lost a brother.

Others who offered their respects included Tanikella Bharani, Ajay Ghosh, Rao Ramesh, Shivaji Raja, director Trivikram, and producers Suresh Babu, K. Atchi Reddy, and Tammireddy Bharadwaj.

Earlier, Chiranjeevi honored Srinivasa Rao through a heartfelt post on the social media platform 'X'. He reminisced, "With the film Pranam Khareedu, our journeys in cinema began simultaneously. He went on to star in countless films, showcasing a plethora of roles that captivated Telugu audiences with his exceptional style, securing an everlasting place in their hearts. Every character he portrayed, whether a comedic villain, serious antagonist, or supporting role, was imbued with a brilliance that felt uniquely his."

Chiranjeevi further mentioned, "The recent personal tragedy in his family took a toll on him. The void left by Sri Kota Srinivasa Rao is insurmountable for both the film industry and its enthusiasts. I pray for his soul's peace and extend my deepest condolences to his family, supporters, and fans."

Popular actor Jr NTR also shared his tributes on 'X', stating, "Kota Srinivasa Rao garu... just that name evokes immense respect. His unmatched acting skills brought depth to every character he played. The cherished moments I had with him during my cinematic journey will always be unforgettable. My thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Actor Venkatesh expressed that Kota Srinivasa Rao has left a timeless legacy, stating, "A true legend, he elevated every role he played. His absence will be profoundly felt. I am eternally thankful for the moments we shared both on-screen and off. May his soul find eternal rest. My heartfelt condolences to his family."

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised Kota Srinivasa Rao as one of the finest actors in cinema history, saying, "His impact on my films like Shiva, Gaayam, Money, Sarkar, and Raktacharitra is immeasurable. Although Sir Kotasrinivasarao Gaaru has departed, his characters will live on forever."

Actor Manchu Vishnu regarded Srinivasa Rao as a phenomenal talent who illuminated every scene he was part of. He said, "Whether in serious or comedic roles, his unique mastery brought life to every character. I had the privilege of working alongside him in several films and grew up admiring his work. Though we have lost him physically, his legacy, laughter, and spirit will continue to resonate in every scene he graced. Rest in peace, sir. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered."
