Jammu, Aug 7 (NationPress) Three jawans from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) tragically lost their lives and 10 others sustained injuries following a road mishap in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

According to officials, the CRPF vehicle carrying the personnel veered off the road and plunged into a steep gorge in the Basantgarh region of Udhampur.

As the vehicle was navigating the hilly terrain, it reportedly went out of control, leading to the fatal incident, as stated by the officials.

A swift rescue operation was launched, ensuring all the injured were promptly evacuated from the scene.

Among the 10 injured, five are in critical condition and have been transferred to a hospital for urgent medical care.

The officials confirmed, “Three CRPF jawans died on the spot in this tragic accident.”

Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State (PMO), expressed his sorrow on X, stating, “It is distressing to hear about the road accident involving a CRPF vehicle in the Kandva–Basantgarh area. This vehicle was transporting several courageous jawans. I have spoken with DC Ms. Saloni Rai, who is actively overseeing the situation and providing updates.
