While addressing a gathering to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Manipur High Court, the Union Law Minister mentioned that the peace process in Manipur is ongoing and needs to be accelerated further.

“With the swift restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur, the state can progress significantly and contribute to Viksit Bharat,” Meghwal stated.

“Not just myself, but everyone is optimistic that peace and normalcy will soon return to Manipur,” he added, calling on all communities to play a sincere and unified role in fostering a thriving Manipur.

The Union Minister praised the performance and achievements of the Manipur High Court in various initiatives, mentioning that the Union government had previously allocated Rs 7,210 crore for various court-related projects, including the e-court initiative.

He remarked, “The Manipur High Court has made impressive strides in virtual hearings and the implementation of e-court projects, with over 90 percent of the work completed.”

He recommended that various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) schemes from corporate entities be introduced in the judiciary and court sectors.

“Seeing representatives from the four pillars of democracy—Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, and Media—along with students, youth, and the general populace at the High Court event is truly remarkable,” the Union Minister noted.

He expressed appreciation for the visit of five Supreme Court judges to Manipur at the same time.

Supreme Court Justice B. R. Gavai led a five-member team of apex court judges visiting the violence-affected state since Saturday.

Justice Gavai, accompanied by fellow apex court judges Vikram Nath, M.M. Sundresh, K.V. Vishwanathan, and N.
