Hanoi, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, has urged for rapid initiatives to restore and rebuild homes for communities impacted by the recent flooding in the south-central regions, as reported by local media on Monday.
He has mandated that all repairs to affected houses be finalized by November 30, 2025.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has directed local authorities to construct new homes and arrange resettlement for families whose residences were either destroyed, swept away, or heavily damaged, aiming for completion by January 31, 2026, according to Xinhua News Agency citing the local daily Nhan Dan.
The tragic toll from the recent floods in Vietnam has reached 91 fatalities, with 11 individuals still unaccounted for, as stated by the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority.
Economic damages are estimated to exceed 13 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 493 million US dollars).
Severe rainfall and flooding have adversely affected 1,154 homes and over 80,800 hectares of rice and other agricultural crops in the area.
