Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, Feb 11 (NationPress) The creators of the romantic drama 'Pookie', directed by Ganesh Chandra, unveiled an intriguing trailer on Wednesday, hinting that the renowned actor, producer, and music director Vijay Antony might take on the role of the film's antagonist.
Vijay Antony, who also produces the film, shared the trailer on his X timeline. He stated, "Here’s the trailer of #POOKIE. Apologies for the technical hiccup. It’s worth the wait, we assure you. Just 2 days left until it hits cinemas worldwide on Feb 13."
The trailer presents the film's lead couple appearing to be in love. A voiceover narrates, "A mass hero and a bubbly heroine fall in love and are joyful." However, we soon witness a transition as the voiceover continues, "They then separate," showcasing the heartache that follows.
The voiceover further questions, "Even if the divine wishes for their reunion, will their friends permit it?" This is illustrated through the friends of both characters, who depict one another negatively. The girl's friends plant doubts in her mind, alleging the hero is a habitual abuser, leading her to vow never to see him again.
Simultaneously, both families express concern over the turmoil they must endure. The trailer concludes with the voiceover ominously stating, "As if these issues weren't enough, a villain emerges too." Shortly thereafter, we catch a glimpse of Vijay Antony, sporting dyed hair, reclining on a cot and playing a musical instrument.
Set to release on February 13, the film stars Ajay Dhishan and Dhanusha in principal roles.
Produced by the esteemed Vijay Antony through his Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the film is shot by director Ganesh Chandra himself. Notably, Ganesh Chandra previously served as the cinematographer for Vijay Antony's second project as the lead, 'Salim'.
In addition to composing the film's score, Vijay Antony has also taken charge of editing. The script has been crafted by Puthiya Parithi.
The cast includes a plethora of actors such as Vijay Antony, Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, M.J. Shriram, Radha, Ashwin Ram, Shiyara Sharmi, and Priyanka.
