Wamiqa Applauds Imtiaz Ali: You Unknowingly Played a Significant Role in My Life

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Wamiqa Gabbi has acknowledged the filmmaker for playing a “significant role” in her life and expressed her gratitude for helping the actress to have faith in herself.
Wamiqa shared her sentiments on her Instagram stories, where she reposted a message from Imtiaz. The post showcased a scene from the 2007 film “Jab We Met”, in which she portrayed a cousin to the iconic character Geet, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The post included a caption stating: “Do you recognize this girl in Jab We Met who plays Geet's younger sister? It is none other than Wamiqa Gabbi.”
In response to the video, Wamiqa wrote: “Imtiaaaaaaaaz sir, you have unknowingly played such a beautiful role in my life. Thank you for always being kind and for helping this little school-going girl believe in herself.”
“Jab We Met” features actors Shahid Kapoor, Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and the late Dara Singh. The film narrates the tale of Aditya Kashyap, a heartbroken businessman who boards a train and encounters a chatty Punjabi girl, Geet Dhillon. As they miss their train, Geet and Aditya embark on a journey to her home, leading to a transformative love story.
Regarding Wamiqa, she was recently seen alongside Varun Dhawan in “Baby John.” The actress has also joined the cast of the forthcoming spy thriller “G2,” directed by debutant Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi.
“G2” is a sequel to the successful 2018 spy thriller “Goodachari,” which was written by and starred Adivi. Wamiqa will appear opposite Adivi Sesh in this next chapter of the franchise, furthering the narrative of Sesh’s character from “Goodachari,” according to reports from variety.com.
Wamiqa is celebrated for her performances in the Prime Video series “Jubilee,” Netflix film “Khufiya,” and SonyLIV series “Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley,” all released in 2023.
She recently wrapped up the European shooting schedule for “G2” alongside Sesh. Actor Emraan Hashmi, another notable addition to the cast, is expected to portray a pivotal role in the film.
The ensemble cast also includes Murali Sharma, Supriya Yarlagadda, and Madhu Shalini.
