New Delhi, May 14 (NationPress) Wamiqa Gabbi, who is set to appear in the upcoming film “Bhool Chuk Maaf”, has reflected on a particular “mistake” that she now appreciates. The actress revealed that it was the ability to say “no”.
When asked if there was a “Bhool Chuk” she has learned from, Wamiqa shared with IANS: “It’s saying no.”
The 31-year-old star expressed her satisfaction with becoming more comfortable in saying no when necessary.
“At that moment, it often feels like a mistake. Saying no can feel like such a… It makes me worry that I’m doing something wrong by refusing. However, I’m truly grateful for the newfound comfort in saying no; it’s a wonderful realization.”
The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, features music by Tanishk Bagchi, lyrics by Irshad Kamil, and vocals from Tanishk Bagchi and Madhubanti Bagchi.
Regarding “Bhool Chuk Maaf”, directed by Karan Sharma, the narrative centers around Ranjan, a romantic young man from Banaras, who secures a government position to marry Titli but neglects his vow to Lord Shiva—leading to humorous entanglements until he honors his commitment. A delightful story of love, destiny, and redemption unfolds.
Director Karan Sharma began his career in Delhi before moving to Mumbai in 2005. His short film, Black Holi, has received international acclaim as a top narrative short film.
The film was originally scheduled for release on May 9; however, on May 8, the team announced that it would now premiere digitally on Prime Video on May 16, “in light of recent events and increased security measures across the country” after the Indian Air Force targeted terrorist locations without crossing into Pakistan's airspace.
Nonetheless, the film's release is currently on hold. The Bombay High Court has issued an ad-interim injunction preventing Maddock Films from launching Bhool Chuk Maaf on OTT platforms before fulfilling its agreed-upon 8-week theatrical run with PVR Inox.
PVR Inox contended in its court filing that the last-minute change violates the contract established between the parties on May 6, 2025, which mandated an 8-week release window prior to online distribution.
