Jaipur, Nov 28 (NationPress) Weather patterns experienced a notable shift across Rajasthan on Friday, with light rainfall and a cloudy atmosphere introducing a distinct winter chill to Jaipur.
The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for numerous districts over the next couple of days, warning that a cold wave may envelop parts of the state as December approaches.
Officials indicated that districts within the Ajmer, Jaipur, and Udaipur divisions could see light rain or drizzle throughout the day. A western disturbance that traversed the state on Thursday resulted in a decline in maximum temperatures, while minimum temperatures witnessed a slight increase due to the cloud cover.
According to Jaipur Meteorological Centre Director Radheyshyam Sharma, moderate to dense fog is anticipated in sections of southern and eastern Rajasthan on November 29 and 30, leading to a yellow alert.
“On Saturday and Sunday, moderate to dense fog is likely to affect certain areas of the southern and eastern regions of the state. As the first week of December begins, northerly winds will intensify, resulting in a drop in minimum temperatures by 3-4 degrees Celsius. A cold wave may form in parts of the Shekhawati region,” Sharma stated.
The cloudy conditions on Thursday elevated night temperatures in various cities. Mount Abu recorded the lowest temperature at 5 degrees C, while Fatehpur noted 7.2 degrees. Sikar experienced a significant increase of 8.5 degrees C, reaching 12.5 degrees C, in contrast to below 5 degrees the day before. Nagaur also saw a rise of 5.8 degrees C, reaching 11 degrees C.
Daytime temperatures remained subdued under the cloud cover, with Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Churu, Pilani, Bhilwara, and Karauli reporting maximum temperatures below 26 degrees C. Karauli was among the coldest during the day at 24.8 degrees C, closely followed by Ganganagar (24.7 degrees) and Ajmer (24.6 degrees). Barmer was the warmest district at 30.2 degrees.
