Patna, Dec 13 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit visited Aguwani Ghat in Parbatta block of Khagaria district on Saturday to assess the status of the under-construction Aguwani Ghat-Sultanganj bridge spanning the Ganga River.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary evaluated the bridge’s construction progress alongside senior officials from the State Bridge Construction Corporation, representatives from SP Singla Construction Company, and the local JDU MLA.
A comprehensive review meeting followed, focusing on the project’s pace and quality.
Pratyaya Amrit urged the officials to ensure the project meets its deadlines while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
He emphasized that there should be no compromise on construction quality given the scale and significance of the project.
In statements to the media post-meeting, Khagaria Additional District Magistrate Abhishek Palasia revealed that the Aguwani Ghat–Sultanganj bridge aims to be completed by May 2027.
He mentioned that the approach roads on either side of the bridge are anticipated to be finished by next year.
The Additional DM also indicated that the project’s progress will be regularly monitored, with the Chief Secretary overseeing construction status every Tuesday via video conferencing to ensure timely execution.
This four-lane Aguwani Ghat-Sultanganj bridge, linking Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts, is a flagship infrastructure initiative of the Bihar government.
Once operational, it is expected to dramatically enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activities in the region.
