New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Following the initiation of a probe by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) into an Air India aircraft deemed unairworthy, which still operated eight flights prior to being grounded, the airline expressed on Tuesday that the situation is regrettable and has commenced a thorough internal investigation.
The Airbus A320 involved had an expired airworthiness license and was operated multiple times last month before the issue was identified and the aircraft was grounded. It remains grounded while the DGCA continues its inquiry.
The DGCA issues the Certificate of Airworthiness, which requires yearly renewal only if the aircraft is confirmed safe for flight.
