New Delhi, March 24 (NationPress) Apple announced on Monday that an upcoming software update next month will introduce lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio capabilities to the AirPods Max.
With the provided USB-C cable, users will be able to enjoy the highest audio quality for music, movies, and games. Additionally, music creators will see significant improvements in their songwriting, beat-making, production, and mixing processes, as stated by the company.
This update will enable AirPods Max to access 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio, ensuring that the essence of original recordings is maintained, allowing listeners to enjoy music as intended by the artist in the studio.
Furthermore, lossless audio will be integrated with Personalised Spatial Audio, providing a more precise, uncompressed, and immersive listening experience. Users can access over 100 million songs in lossless quality via Apple Music.
According to Apple, these enhancements empower music creators to make full use of AirPods Max across their complete professional workflow in Logic Pro and other music creation applications.
“With the USB-C cable, AirPods Max will be the sole headphones that allow musicians to create and mix in Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking. By delivering high-resolution digital audio with minimal latency, artists can record and mix effortlessly with AirPods Max without losing sound quality,” Apple noted.
Gamers and livestreamers will also gain from ultra-low latency audio, which drastically reduces lag time and matches the performance of the native built-in speakers on Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
With no delay in response, gameplay and livestreaming will be smoother and even more immersive for all users.
The lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio features will be released in April as a complimentary firmware update alongside iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 for AirPods Max using USB-C.
Currently, AirPods Max are available in five colors: midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange.
