New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) India is swiftly becoming one of the globe's most appealing hubs for artificial intelligence (AI) investments, as three major tech companies—Amazon, Microsoft, and Google—have declared a staggering $67.5 billion in commitments aimed at shaping the nation's digital landscape.
With a youthful demographic, affordable internet access, and a rapidly expanding digital infrastructure, India is poised to evolve into a significant center for AI-driven innovation, attracting remarkable interest from industry leaders like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
Leading the charge, Amazon plans to channel over $35 billion into India by 2030, reinforcing its three core strategies: AI-enhanced digitization, export expansion, and job creation.
The company stated that its investments will bolster AI capabilities, enhance logistics frameworks, and assist millions of small enterprises nationwide.
Microsoft has also set forth an ambitious initiative, pledging $17.5 billion over the next four years (2026–2029) to enhance cloud and AI infrastructure, broaden training programs, and fortify sovereign-ready digital resources throughout India.
This announcement came after a meeting between CEO Satya Nadella and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed confidence that India's youth will seize this opportunity to “innovate and utilize the potential of AI for a better planet.”
He also noted that the nation is on a path to becoming the largest developer community globally by 2030.
Emphasizing India's growing talent pool and its rising leadership in next-gen AI innovation, Nadella remarked, "India is expected to have 57.5 million developers by 2030, establishing it as the largest developer base worldwide."
Meanwhile, Google has made a significant pledge, announcing a $15 billion investment to create a premier AI hub in Visakhapatnam (Vizag).
Collaborating with AdaniConneX and Airtel, Google plans to construct India’s largest AI data center campus, powered by sustainable energy and supported by a subsea cable network.
Experts believe this investment signifies a shift in India's tech landscape beyond Bengaluru and Hyderabad, potentially establishing a new global-scale innovation center on its eastern coast.
