New Delhi, May 19 (NationPress) The government-owned Navratna enterprise Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) announced on Monday an impressive 18% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 2,127 crore for the January-March quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25. This marks a significant rise from Rs 1,797 crore reported during the same timeframe last year.
The company recorded revenue from operations at Rs 9,150 crore, reflecting a 7% growth from Rs 8,564 crore in the previous year’s comparable quarter.
BEL’s board has proposed a final dividend of Rs 0.90 per equity share for the fiscal year 2024-25.
In May, BEL secured additional orders amounting to Rs 572 crore since the last update on April 7, 2025. The major contracts include the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDDIS), Software Defined Radio (SDR), and Data Communication Unit (DCU) for combat systems, as well as various AI-based solutions for naval operations, communication devices, jammers, and support services.
Earlier, on April 2, the defence PSU signed a contract worth Rs 593.22 crore with the Indian Air Force to provide maintenance services for the Akash Missile System, marking an auspicious start to the new financial year 2025-26.
BEL had previously delivered the Akash Missile System to the Air Force, which facilitated the maintenance contract acquisition.
Moreover, the company has successfully negotiated orders worth Rs 5,000 crore.
BEL achieved a turnover of approximately Rs 23,000 crore during FY 2024-25, compared to Rs 19,820 crore the previous year, yielding a 16% increase. This includes export sales of around $106 million, up from $92.98 million last year, representing a 14% growth, as stated by the company.
In the fiscal year 2024-25, BEL received orders totaling Rs 18,715 crore. Significant projects include the BMP II Upgrade, Ashwini Radar, Software Defined Radios, and various non-defence sector initiatives. Consequently, BEL's total order book as of April 1, 2025, stands at approximately Rs 71,650 crore, which includes an export order book worth $359 million.
