New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) expressed its strong approval regarding the government’s recent decision to extend the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme until March 31, 2026. This extension will encompass exports from the domestic tariff area (DTA), holders of advance authorisation, special economic zones (SEZs), and export-oriented units (EOUs).
FIEO President S C Ralhan remarked that this timely extension alleviates the uncertainty that exporters had been grappling with.
“The timely extension of RoDTEP has lifted the cloud of uncertainty over the exporting community,” Ralhan stated.
He emphasized that this decision arrives at a pivotal moment when global trade is encountering significant hurdles, providing exporters the assurance to strategize their shipments with confidence.
“This initiative comes at a crucial point when exporters are navigating global challenges, granting them the much-needed policy stability for more confident export planning,” he added.
Ralhan highlighted that RoDTEP has been essential in enhancing the competitiveness of Indian exports by refunding taxes and duties that are not recoverable otherwise.
He believes that the continuation of this scheme will empower Indian exporters to maintain their momentum, despite current global challenges.
“The scheme has been vital in making Indian exports competitive by neutralizing the burden of non-creditable taxes and duties; its continuation will be instrumental for exporters to sustain their growth in today’s challenging global trade atmosphere,” Ralhan noted.
He also commended the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for their positive response to exporters’ concerns.
Ralhan stated that such policy consistency bolsters India’s standing in international markets and inspires exporters to discover new markets and broaden their product offerings.
FIEO reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate closely with the government to ensure that exporters fully leverage the RoDTEP scheme, contributing to India’s ambitious export growth objectives.
