New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) Highlighting India’s growth ambitions and its adeptness in managing unprecedented uncertainty, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to inaugurate the fourth edition of the Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC 2025) in the capital on October 3, as stated in an official announcement.
Union Minister for External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, will conclude the event with insights on India’s foreign and economic strategies on October 5, according to the Ministry of Finance.
“The special luncheon sessions will feature a forward-looking discussion on ‘Communications: Emerging Technologies,’ led by Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Communications, alongside prominent experts in AI and digital infrastructure,” the announcement further detailed.
The conclave will wrap up with a high-level plenary focused on global macroeconomic prudence, chaired by Dr. PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, gathering senior policymakers and economists to assess the global economy's health and the necessary reforms in financial governance.
This year’s theme, “Seeking Prosperity in Turbulent Times,” is significant in light of India’s growth objectives and its ability to navigate through periods of exceptional uncertainty, upheaval, and shifting geopolitics.
Building on its extensive experience, KEC has notably enhanced both its quality and international presence, engaging 75 participants from over 30 countries to tackle contemporary challenges.
The agenda merges immediate policy priorities with long-term transformations. Discussions will cover Asia’s rise as a global growth center, the evolving BRICS framework, financial stability, and fresh directions in industrial policy.
Among the notable figures attending, Jean-Claude Trichet, Honorary Governor of the Banque de France, will engage in dialogue with RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra regarding central banking challenges during turbulent times.
Other distinguished international leaders include Mari Elka Pangestu, former Indonesian Minister of Trade, and Taro Kono, Member of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party.
They will be joined by Bai Chong-En, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University; Lord Karan Bilimoria, Member of the UK House of Lords; Andres Velasco, Dean of the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics; Lord Nick Stern, Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics; and Jean-Pierre Landau, former Deputy Governor of the Banque de France.
