Gurugram, Feb 15 (NationPress) Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), recognized as one of India's foremost automobile manufacturers, has marked a remarkable milestone of 25 years in vehicle exports from India, solidifying its status as the leading exporter in this sector.

Since initiating exports in 1999, the company has successfully delivered over 3.7 million (37 lakh) vehicles worldwide, according to an official statement.

Hyundai's export statistics illustrate the effectiveness of India’s initiative towards self-sufficiency and competitive automobile manufacturing on a global scale.

Through the years, Hyundai has broadened its international presence, distributing cars to more than 150 countries.

Currently, the company provides vehicles to over 60 nations, with Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru identified as its primary markets in 2024.

Hyundai reported a total export of 158,686 vehicles in 2024. Among the leading export models, the i10 family has exceeded 1.5 million units in foreign sales, while the well-known VERNA series has surpassed 500,000 exports.

The manufacturer has also reached a significant achievement by exporting over 1 million vehicles to Africa.

“Hyundai Motor India Limited proudly stands as the largest exporter of passenger vehicles from India on a cumulative basis,” stated Unsoo Kim, Managing Director-HMIL.

He emphasized that this achievement highlights the increasing trust in Indian engineering and the global appeal of Indian craftsmanship.

“Aligned with our global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ we are committed to providing global customers with an extensive range of smart mobility solutions, further enhancing our commitment to Make in India, Made for the World,” Kim remarked.

Government initiatives such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the automobile industry and the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme have fostered investments in vehicle manufacturing and exports.

In the meantime, the car manufacturer reported a net profit of Rs 1,161 crore in the third quarter (Q3) of financial year 2025 (FY25).

This represents a 19 percent decrease compared to the Rs 1,425 crore recorded in the same quarter of FY 2023-24.

The operational revenue saw a decline of 1.3 percent during the third quarter, amounting to Rs 16,648 crore, down from Rs 16,875 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
