Mumbai, Oct 14 (NationPress) India is increasingly establishing its presence in the global branded residences sector, securing the 6th position internationally for live projects and contributing 4 percent to the overall supply of branded residences, according to a report released on Tuesday.
The nation also holds the 10th rank globally in terms of the upcoming pipeline of branded residential projects, contributing 2 percent of future supply.
"India’s ranking underscores its emerging, though still developing, role in this market compared to global frontrunners such as the USA, UAE, and UK. Notably, the country's growing wealth is driving future demand," stated Knight Frank in the report.
By 2024, India is projected to host nearly 85,698 individuals with a net worth exceeding $10 million, accounting for 3.7 percent of the global high-net-worth population.
This burgeoning affluent demographic is propelling the demand for branded residences that combine international brand prestige with culturally relevant design and top-tier amenities.
"While still in its infancy, India's branded residence sector is quickly making a name for itself on the global stage. Holding the 6th position worldwide for live projects and supported by a rapidly growing base of nearly 86,000 ultra-wealthy individuals, India represents a significant source of future demand for branded living," remarked Shishir Baijal, Chairman and Managing Director of Knight Frank India.
What distinguishes this market is the unique fusion of international brand prestige with culturally sensitive design and services, appealing to buyers who prioritize exclusivity, security, and a genuinely global lifestyle, Baijal added.
Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Pune are at the forefront of India’s branded residence market, while Goa and Uttarakhand are emerging as key lifestyle and secondary home destinations.
The report indicates that the nation’s rapidly evolving real estate landscape, combined with robust luxury demand, positions India as one of the fastest-growing markets for branded developments in the Asia-Pacific region.
From iconic high-rise buildings in Mumbai and NCR to scenic leisure hubs like Goa and Uttarakhand, branded residences are poised to redefine luxury living in India, Baijal noted.
The report was compiled based on a survey of 83 countries.
