Angul (Odisha), Sep 26 (NationPress) – On Friday, Jindal Steel announced the successful commissioning of one of the largest blast furnaces in India at its integrated steel facility in Angul, Odisha. This significant achievement has resulted in the doubling of hot metal production capacity from 4 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) to 9 MTPA, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s steelmaking landscape with the initiation of a 5 MTPA blast furnace.
The accomplishment was celebrated with the launch of the Bhagavati Subhadrika Blast Furnace–II, an event presided over by Jindal Steel Chairman Naveen Jindal, which establishes Angul as the most extensive single-location steel manufacturing facility in India.
