Bengaluru, Oct 24 (NationPress) The state-owned enterprise Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited has officially delivered Rs 135 crore to the State Government as a dividend drawn from its profits for the fiscal year 2024–25.
This significant cheque was presented by Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil and Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited Chairman Appaji Nadagouda to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Conference Hall of Vidhana Soudha.
During the event, Minister Patil commented that Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited achieved a remarkable turnover of Rs 1,700 crore and reported a profit of Rs 451 crore in the previous financial year. Following regulatory guidelines, 30 percent of that profit has been allocated to the government as a dividend.
“This represents a historic milestone for the company in terms of turnover, profit, and dividend,” he noted.
In the fiscal year 2022–23, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited contributed a dividend of Rs 54 crore to the State Government, followed by Rs 108 crore in 2023–24. Compared to last year's figures, this year's dividend marks an increase of Rs 27 crore. “We anticipate further growth in this amount in the upcoming years,” Minister Patil added.
