Lucknow, Nov 20 (NationPress) Commencing on November 19, the vibrant capital will host an extraordinary ten-day Khadi festival, showcasing a diverse collection of handicrafts, furniture, and handloom products from various regions of the state.
Throughout this event, notable entrepreneurs and beneficiaries will be recognized and celebrated.
Visitors can look forward to a range of indigenous products, including Bhadohi carpets, Amroha gamchas and sadris, Sitapur durries and towels, alongside Banarasi silk sarees.
More than 150 local enterprises and entrepreneurs are anticipated to present their handloom, handicraft, and other traditional products at the exhibit.
The Khadi Mahotsav 2025 will take place at the Central Sanskrit University in Gomti Nagar, with the goal of fostering local entrepreneurship, creating new markets for traditional arts and khadi-based industries, and enhancing rural self-sufficiency.
The festival will be inaugurated by Rakesh Sachan, the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom, and Textiles.
From November 21 to November 30, this celebration will honor the rich legacy of khadi, village industries, handicrafts, and local art, providing them with an expansive platform for greater recognition.
The exhibition will include carved wooden furniture from Saharanpur, carpets from Bhadohi, gamchas and sadris from Amroha, durries and towels from Sitapur, Banarasi silk sarees, amla products from Pratapgarh, royal honey from Lucknow, clay crafts, Bikaneri papad, leather goods, traditional jackets, garments, and an extensive range of indigenous products.
During the Mahotsav, selected entrepreneurs and beneficiaries will also be acknowledged. Outstanding state-level units will receive awards, and 5 beneficiaries will be awarded dona-making machines, 5 popcorn machines, 5 honey boxes, 4 electric-operated potter's wheels, and 1 pugmill.
This initiative aims to provide better resources, modern equipment, and growth opportunities for rural enterprises throughout the state.
In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision, Khadi Mahotsav 2025 serves not only as a platform to promote rural industries but also as a pivotal step toward advancing indigenous products, empowering artisans, and strengthening the local economy.
