Mumbai, Nov 26 (NationPress) The Japanese manufacturer of furniture and stationery, Kokuyo Co., Ltd. (known as Kokuyo), has finalized the rebranding of its Indian division, HNI India, to Kokuyo Workplace India Limited. Kokuyo holds the distinction of being the first company from Japan to make its entrance into India's office furniture market.

This strategic initiative aims for 15-20 percent growth in FY24, with an expected acceleration post-integration. The rebranding signifies a crucial milestone in Kokuyo’s strategy to establish India as a pivotal growth center within its Asia-Pacific operations.

The rebranding comes on the heels of Kokuyo’s acquisition of HNI India earlier this year, marking a significant advancement in the company's aim to blend Japanese craftsmanship with the dynamism of the Indian market. This initiative is in line with Kokuyo’s long-term global vision, CCC 2030 (Change, Challenge, Create), emphasizing a commitment to design-led growth, innovation, and a customer-centric transformation across the region.

By 2030, Kokuyo India aims to enhance its presence in key metropolitan areas and emerging business centers. The company introduced its new identity at Orgatec India 2025 in Mumbai earlier this month, showcasing next-generation solutions that foster collaboration, agility, and well-being.

“This rebranding signifies more than just a new identity; it embodies a renewed purpose,” stated Karan Sachdev, Managing Director of Kokuyo India.

“By merging the precision of Japanese design with India's market dynamism, we are creating workplaces that are more adaptive, sustainable, and human-centric. This represents the next chapter in our mission to redefine the workplace, with a clear objective of achieving threefold growth in India by 2030,” added Sachdev.

The global office furniture sector is projected to grow at a 6-8 percent CAGR until 2030, with the Asia-Pacific region contributing over a quarter of global revenues. India stands out as one of the fastest-growing markets, fueled by corporate expansion, hybrid work trends, and a heightened focus on ergonomics and sustainability.

With a manufacturing facility spanning 350,000 sq. ft. in Nagpur and a legacy of 120 years, Kokuyo continues to reshape workplaces around the globe through kaizen (continuous improvement), creativity, and functionality.

The company is set to invest further in design innovation across all product lines and sustainability-driven manufacturing, reinforcing its vision of “Make in India, for the World.”

With brands including Camlin, Lamex, ACTUS, ESTIC, and Formax in its portfolio, Kokuyo India aspires to infuse global design sensibilities into local workplaces, merging Japanese minimalism with Indian adaptability.
