New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) In a significant milestone, the Jimny 5-door SUV has achieved a remarkable export total of over 1 lakh units from India, as announced by Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Thursday.
The export journey of the Jimny 5-door commenced in 2023, shortly after its launch in India. This SUV, produced exclusively in India, has been dispatched to more than 100 countries, including Japan, Mexico, and Australia.
“The launch of the Jimny 5-door in Japan in January 2025, marketed as 'Jimny Nomade', generated an overwhelming demand with orders exceeding 50,000 within days. This showcases the Jimny’s strong appeal in one of the world's most sophisticated and quality-focused automobile markets,” the company stated.
As per Maruti Suzuki, the Jimny 5-door is engineered for excellence, featuring a ladder-frame chassis paired with Suzuki’s renowned ALLGRIP PRO (4WD), ensuring exceptional off-road capabilities and stability.
Equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, it strikes a balance between durability, simplicity, and reliable performance, qualities that resonate with both off-road enthusiasts and global consumers who value quality and functionality.

The Jimny, along with 16 other models exported by Maruti Suzuki, exemplifies the ‘Make in India for the World’ initiative.
The consistent growth in the company’s exports underscores the loyalty and confidence customers have in our offerings and highlights India’s emergence as a hub for world-class automobile manufacturing, Takeuchi remarked.
This accomplishment further solidifies Maruti Suzuki’s strong and sustained export growth trajectory.
With over 2 lakh vehicles exported in the first half of FY 2025-26, the company saw a growth of approximately 40% and achieved its highest-ever half-yearly export volume. In FY 2024-25, the company exported more than 3.3 lakh vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki holds over 46% share in India's passenger vehicle exports.
