Why is Punjab CM Silent on His Viral Video?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, Oct 23 (NationPress) Following a tweet by BJP working president Ashwani Sharma regarding the purported viral video of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has exhibited signs of distress and unease, stated Punjab BJP’s media head Vineet Joshi on Thursday.
Joshi remarked, “Consequently, AAP officials are conducting press conferences and issuing nonsensical, irrational, and unfounded claims,” while addressing reporters at the party office in Chandigarh.
He noted that after a span of 48 hours, Sharma simply tweeted: “The individual who used to conduct press conferences over trivial matters is now mute regarding his alleged video? Punjab warrants an explanation, Bhagwant Sahib. Please elucidate.”
Joshi posed the question, “What is amiss with the tweet?”
In a pointed critique of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Chief Minister, BJP leader Vineet Joshi questioned, “If the video is a fabrication, then why is the Chief Minister silent?”
He further asserted that this matter extends beyond a solitary video, instead raising significant inquiries regarding the government’s purported ‘integrity’ and ‘ethics.’
Joshi stated, “AAP had promised the public a vision of clean governance, yet now, when serious inquiries arise about their own Chief Minister, the entire faction has remained silent for two full days.”
Additionally, Joshi criticized AAP leaders Baltej Pannu and Malvinder Singh Kang, noting that these individuals are typically quick to criticize others, but their tone has shifted now that the issue impacts their party. He raised concerns regarding the initial information report (FIR) filed by the Cyber Cell, questioning, “When the Chief Minister is mentioned in the video, why hasn’t his account been incorporated in the FIR? Is there pressure on the Cyber Cell, or is the government attempting to stifle the issue?”
