Chandigarh, Jan 17 (NationPress) Ashwani Sharma, the working President of Punjab BJP, fiercely criticized the Aam Aadmi Party and the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann. He pointed out that the forensic analysis of the video, where MLA Atishi reportedly used offensive language against Guru Sahib during a session in the Delhi Assembly, has confirmed that the video is authentic and unaltered. Sharma emphasized that the Punjab government lacks the original footage, rendering its claims of the video being fake devoid of any ethical or factual foundation.
He raised concerns about how the government can mislead the public regarding such a sensitive religious matter without substantial evidence.
In a serious accusation against the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Sharma stated that by protecting Atishi, who allegedly used derogatory terms for Guru Sahib, the Chief Minister and his Cabinet members are complicit in this act of disrespect towards the Gurus.
He noted that the Delhi Assembly, which held the original footage of the incident, conducted a unanimous forensic examination at the request of the Opposition, and the findings unequivocally established that the video had not been manipulated.
Despite the factual revelations, Sharma accused Chief Minister Mann and his colleagues of continuing to defend Atishi, thereby deeply offending the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
“By shielding her, AAP leaders are themselves participating in the sin of insulting Guru Sahib,” he remarked.
Sharma further asserted that the AAP is exhibiting a double standard regarding religious issues, which the people of Punjab will never tolerate.
He demanded a public apology from Atishi for her remarks and insisted that the Punjab government clarify its position on this matter without any ambiguity.
