Chandigarh, Jan 17 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab strongly criticized the efforts made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress leaders to create confusion among the public by casting suspicion on a forensic conclusion that has been officially recorded by a court regarding the altered video of AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, while addressing a question posed by State BJP President Sunil Jakhar concerning the Punjab Police's forensic report, stated that the matter has escalated beyond mere political discourse and now represents a direct affront to a judicial ruling.
Arora emphasized that the court, having analyzed the forensic reports provided by the state Forensic Science Laboratory, clearly documented that the viral video was manipulated and that the supposedly derogatory term was absent in the original audio.
On the basis of this determination, the court mandated the removal of the video and its blocking across all social media platforms.
"Challenging the forensic evidence submitted to a court is not merely a critique of a political entity or administration. It questions the verdict rendered by the judiciary," Arora remarked in his statement.
"When a court has delivered its judgment, disputing its findings transcends politics; it amounts to contempt of the legal system," he added.
In response to misleading narratives and selective interpretations circulating on social media, another Punjab Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar asserted that propagating a false narrative does not alter judicial realities.
"A court evaluated forensic evidence and documented its findings. That legal conclusion is on record. No political interpretation or selective reference can supersede a forensic determination acknowledged by a court," he noted.
Bhullar, addressing comments made by Congress leader Pargat Singh, stated that involving religious sentiments in a controversy rooted in manipulated content is profoundly irresponsible.
"The Sikh community deserves transparency and integrity, not the dissemination of doctored clips for political advantage. Using the revered names of the Gurus to defend falsified content is what genuinely undermines Sikh sentiments," he remarked.
AAP leaders advised Pargat Singh and State BJP Chief Jakhar that democratic accountability necessitates respect for judicial institutions and acknowledgment of court findings, irrespective of political convenience.
