Chandigarh, April 17 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit president Aman Arora on Thursday criticized Congress legislator and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa for issuing reckless statements that jeopardize Punjab's peace and align with the interests of the state’s adversaries.

He called out both the Congress and the BJP for their failure to clarify their positions on these provocative remarks, particularly those endorsed by controversial figures like designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

Arora addressed the media here, stating that certain political leaders, eager to regain their diminishing political relevance, are resorting to reckless and dangerous rhetoric.

"These politicians, instead of focusing on the genuine issues affecting the populace, are indulging in baseless rhetoric to push their political agendas," he remarked.

He noted that such actions not only jeopardize the state’s security but also instill fear and panic among the residents.

Arora took issue with Bajwa’s comments regarding grenades allegedly entering Punjab, which he previously asserted in a media interview.

Bajwa had associated these claims with intelligence reports, insisting that his sources were credible, though he later conceded that his information stemmed from a newspaper article.

"Had Bajwa simply acknowledged that his source was a news piece, the matter would have concluded there. Instead, he opted to make sensational claims that incite fear," stated Arora.

He expressed disappointment that Bajwa, despite being an experienced politician, failed to act responsibly, thereby undermining public confidence in state institutions. "Bajwa’s remarks have exacerbated fear and confusion," he stated.

He also emphasized the High Court's directive for Bajwa to cooperate with the Punjab Police and to refrain from making further inflammatory remarks.

Arora condemned the fact that extremist figures like Pannun have exploited Bajwa’s comments to validate their anti-national rhetoric.

He pointed out that Pannun, who had previously threatened to vandalize statues of B.R. Ambedkar in Punjab, has now echoed Bajwa’s assertions.

"When leaders like Bajwa make such statements, it empowers anti-national elements like Pannun, who then seize the opportunity to promote their divisive agenda," Arora remarked.

He challenged both the Congress and the BJP, demanding that they clarify their positions on the matter.

"The Congress must clarify whether they support Bajwa's dangerous remarks and the endorsement by Gurpatwant Pannun. The BJP must take steps against those undermining the peace and stability of the nation," the AAP leader concluded.
