Chandigarh, April 15 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized a significant protest in Mohali, near Chandigarh, denouncing Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa’s provocative statements that jeopardize Punjab's peace and unity.
Under the leadership of Punjab AAP President Aman Arora, alongside Cabinet Ministers Ravjot Singh and Balbir Singh, the demonstration attracted numerous party members and supporters who demanded accountability from Bajwa. During the event, Arora criticized Bajwa, asserting, “Bajwa’s unfounded allegations concerning 50 grenades entering Punjab are designed to incite fear and disturb the tranquility achieved under the AAP government. If Bajwa possesses credible evidence, why is he not sharing it with the Punjab Police? Instead, he is engaging in fear-mongering for political advantage.”
Arora presented Bajwa with two distinct options: Either disclose the source of his information and provide it to the Punjab Police, which would lead to the cancellation of any FIR against him if the claims are valid; or, if he lacks evidence, he must publicly apologize for disseminating falsehoods and misleading the residents of Punjab. Arora criticized Bajwa for his unwillingness to collaborate with the authorities and questioned his credibility.
“If Bajwa cannot substantiate his claims, it raises serious doubts about his motives. By trying to undermine public confidence in Punjab’s intelligence agencies, he is aiding forces that seek to destabilize the state,” Arora remarked.
Another party official, Harchand Singh Barsat, expressed similar views, labeling Bajwa’s remarks as a conspiracy. “The Congress and its allies, unable to accept Punjab’s advancement under the AAP administration, are plotting to instigate unrest. Bajwa’s comments reflect their desperation and frustration,” Barsat stated.
Both ministers, Ravjot Singh and Balbir Singh, emphasized the AAP government's accomplishments in combating drugs, corruption, and gang violence that plagued previous administrations. “The Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal are to blame for Punjab’s historical issues, and they are now collaborating to undermine our progress,” Balbir Singh noted.
AAP leaders announced that if Bajwa remains uncooperative or fails to apologize, the party will escalate its protests and march to his residence. They also reaffirmed their dedication to preserving Punjab's peace and harmony, urging all political figures to act responsibly. “Punjab has endured enough. We will not permit anyone to disrupt the hard-won peace under AAP’s leadership,” Arora concluded.
