Chandigarh, April 15 (NationPress) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Daljit Singh Cheema on Tuesday mocked Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President and Cabinet minister Aman Arora for organizing a dharna outside a police station, demanding action against Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa. Cheema stated that if AAP officials resorted to such measures, the ordinary citizen could not expect any justice.

Congress leader Bajwa was called in by the police regarding a case linked to his statement claiming that 50 bombs had entered the state, 18 of which had detonated while 32 remained.

Cheema expressed that instead of staging such performances post-complaints, the AAP government should prioritize enhancing the law and order situation in the state.

“However, if a minister protests against the state’s own police, it indicates a lack of governance in the state. In this scenario, the entire ministry ought to resign,” he remarked.

Emphasizing that an emergency-like regime had been instituted in Punjab, Cheema noted that Opposition leaders who criticized the government were being targeted, with Bajwa being the most recent example.

He insisted that if the Chief Minister truly believed that no further explosions would take place in Punjab, he should boldly declare his resignation should any such incident happen.

“Instead of doing this, you have filed a case against Bajwa,” he added.

The day prior, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann cautioned opposition leaders against engaging in politics of intimidation and fear, as the populace would not tolerate their divisive and deceitful behavior.

The Chief Minister remarked that a senior Congress leader had made an unfounded and irrational claim regarding 50 bombs.

He stated that this illogical assertion was solely designed to instill fear and panic among the public.

Mann labeled this behavior as intolerable, unwarranted, and undesirable, asserting that the citizens of the state would never forgive such leaders.

The Chief Minister declared that neither state nor central agencies had any information, yet the Congress leader made this false and irrelevant claim.
