Chandigarh, Feb 24 (NationPress) The President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, Aman Arora, has taken a strong stance against Congress leader Pratap Bajwa, asserting that his move to the BJP is inevitable.

Arora accused Bajwa of betraying his constituents and being driven solely by personal gain.

“Pratap Bajwa has effectively secured his spot with the BJP. I call upon Rahul Gandhi to confront Bajwa regarding his recent activities in Bengaluru and the senior BJP leaders he met there,” Arora stated.

“It’s evident that his narrative is scripted in BJP offices, similar to his brother who has already affiliated with the BJP,” he added.

Addressing Bajwa's unfounded claims about 32 AAP legislators allegedly looking to join Congress, Arora clarified, “Bajwa is merely spreading falsehoods and making frivolous statements with no substance. He is unaware of the status of his own MLAs. He lost Sandeep Jakhar to the BJP, yet he speaks of undermining our government.”

“His assertions are absurd and lack any factual grounding,” Arora remarked, dismissing Bajwa’s threats to disrupt the AAP government as ridiculous.

“The AAP government in Punjab comprises 94 MLAs. Even if we were to deduct Bajwa’s fictitious count of 32 MLAs, we would still maintain a majority with 62 MLAs,” he emphasized.

He pointed out that the Congress party holds merely 15 MLAs in Punjab. “Even with an additional 32, they still wouldn’t achieve a majority. This reflects his desperation and distorted perception of reality,” Arora said.

Arora advised Bajwa to concentrate on resolving issues within his own party, which is facing significant turmoil.

“The Congress party is in utter chaos. Every MLA there dreams of becoming the chief minister or party president. Bajwa should redirect his efforts toward salvaging his own failing party instead of spreading unfounded rumors about our administration,” he noted.

He also highlighted the AAP government's positive contributions to Punjab.

“Our administration is dedicated to serving the people of Punjab and will continue fulfilling our commitments. We are in this for the long run and are poised to return with an even stronger mandate in 2027. The citizens of Punjab recognize our effective governance,” he stated.

In a related statement, AAP leader Neel Garg accused Bajwa of putting his political ambitions ahead of his duties as the Leader of Opposition. “Bajwa’s transition to the BJP is a certainty, and he has already made arrangements for a BJP ticket. Rahul Gandhi should promptly question him about his clandestine meetings in Bengaluru and his betrayal of the Congress party,” Garg said in a video statement.

Garg further mocked Bajwa for his inability to provide constructive opposition, saying, "The people of Punjab expect a responsible opposition, not someone who engages in spreading unfounded rumors and petty politics. Bajwa’s actions merely unveil his desperation and lack of commitment to public service."
