Chandigarh, Jan 10 (NationPress) The President of Punjab BJP, Sunil Jakhar, stated on Saturday that the clarification provided by former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi regarding her video appears to be an admission of guilt. He pointed out that the Punjab Police managed to perform a forensic analysis of her video within a day, which resulted in her being given a clean chit.

Jakhar raised concerns about why the same police force has not conducted a prompt forensic examination of the video pertaining to the Chief Minister, which could also give him a clean chit. The delay in addressing this matter, coupled with the Chief Minister's apparent reluctance to initiate an investigation, suggests that there might be underlying issues that warrant scrutiny.

He urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to either step down or promptly initiate an investigation into the video allegedly involving religious sacrilege to clear his name. Jakhar emphasized that if Atishi's video could be investigated within a day, the Chief Minister's similar situation should also be addressed swiftly.

Jakhar stated that if the Chief Minister lacks the resolve to authorize a forensic examination concerning the allegations against him, he lacks the moral authority to remain in office.

Commenting on the rapid forensic examination conducted by the Jalandhar Police on Atishi's video, Jakhar noted that there are also two other audio-video clips that have been circulating for some time, which the government has not investigated.

He highlighted that in her clarification, Atishi acknowledged using the term 'dogs' as a reference, questioning the context in which these words were used. Understanding the context surrounding the ongoing Assembly discussions can help assess the mindset of the party's leaders.

Jakhar remarked that while the Punjab Chief Minister was calling for a special Assembly session in honor of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Atishi's derogatory language during Assembly discussions raises concerns.

He further pointed out that while a clean chit was given to Atishi after a quick forensic examination, serious allegations against the Patiala SSP regarding election rigging and the Chief Minister's involvement in religious sacrilege remain unaddressed.

He challenged the government to promptly conduct forensic examinations of these audio and video clips to unveil the truth. Despite orders from the High Court, the government has not yet responded regarding the investigation into the Patiala SSP's audio. The Chief Minister also needs to take this opportunity to demonstrate his innocence.

Jakhar concluded by asserting that the delay in conducting forensic examinations of these clips raises questions about their authenticity. He added that it is not appropriate for a Chief Minister to allow such allegations to circulate without seeking the truth.

Additionally, the state BJP president announced that to address the worsening law and order situation, the increasing drug issues, and rampant corruption in Punjab, the party plans to 'gherao' the Chief Minister's residence in Chandigarh on January 16.
