New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for its alleged attempts to stir discord between Hindus and Sikhs. He stated on Saturday that the forensic laboratory report concerning the Delhi Assembly's recording of indecent remarks made by AAP leader Atishi against Sikh Gurus has definitively proven her misconduct.

Sachdeva denounced remarks made by AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, indicating a calculated effort to incite Hindu–Sikh riots.

The Delhi BJP chief expressed that Bharadwaj’s comment is perilous and suggests that the AAP leadership, facing diminishing political support in Punjab, may resort to inciting riots and undermining social peace.

While addressing the media, Sachdeva reaffirmed the legitimacy of the inquiry report concerning Atishi's remarks from January 6, presented by Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, emphasizing that it is grounded in the assessment of the original Assembly recording, leaving no room for doubt.

He noted that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in Amritsar also condemned Atishi and decided to take action against her. There is significant anger towards her among the Sikh community throughout Delhi, Punjab, and beyond, he claimed.

Sachdeva emphasized that the nation is currently posed with a single question: Where is Arvind Kejriwal hiding Atishi since the morning of January 7, and why hasn’t she come forward to apologize for her actions and resolve this controversy?

The Delhi BJP demands that the Speaker take constitutional and legal measures against Atishi and suspend her from the House.

Delhi BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor asserted that AAP's entire political journey has been built on deception, and they continue to fabricate lies to shield their leader’s wrongdoing.

Kapoor remarked that previously, at the behest of Kejriwal, Atishi had disrespected the esteemed Sikh Gurus by making derogatory comparisons during a discussion in the Delhi Assembly regarding the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

He stated that since the Delhi Assembly Speaker revealed the forensic report of Atishi’s video recording, AAP leaders have been attempting to obfuscate their wrongdoing by creating confusion.

The Delhi BJP spokesperson stated that AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjay Singh, Priyanka Kakkar, and Anurag Dhanda have been conducting separate press conferences and misrepresenting that the inquiry conducted by the Speaker did not reference the word “Guru,” when in fact, the inquiry confirmed that Atishi used both “dogs” and “Gurus.”

Kapoor expressed that fearing political setbacks in Punjab, AAP leaders have resorted to discussing Hindu–Sikh riots, but their attempts will fail as the unity between Hindus and Sikhs has prevailed for centuries and will persist.

Point of View

It is crucial to remain impartial while covering sensitive issues like communal harmony. The ongoing tensions between political parties must be reported factually, ensuring that the voices of all communities are heard. The situation demands a careful approach to avoid exacerbating any existing divides.
