New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, emphasized on Sunday that a fierce power struggle is unfolding within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) between Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, as both strive to surpass each other by focusing on trivial matters.

He noted that on Saturday, former Chief Minister Atishi made a disparaging post on the X social media platform, targeting the current Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her husband, prompting a robust response from our party.

Sachdeva mentioned that he, along with Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra and the BJP’s media chief, criticized Atishi’s post and questioned the involvement of former CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal and journalist Bhupendra Chaubey during the AAP governance.

He queried, “Is it not accurate that during the Kejriwal administration, officials were directed to refer to his spouse as ‘Madam CM’?”

Sachdeva pointed out that following his inquiries, Atishi did not respond and reportedly left the country.

The Delhi BJP President expressed astonishment that Bharadwaj, the head of Delhi AAP, has echoed similar unfounded concerns that Atishi raised regarding CM Gupta and her spouse.

Sachdeva reaffirmed that CM Gupta has earned the admiration of Delhi’s populace through her dedication and hard work, progressing from being the Secretary and President of the Delhi University Student Union to being elected as a municipal councillor from Pitampura three times, and now serving as Chief Minister.

He stressed that it is common for family members of elected officials and senior party members to convene and discuss issues affecting the public.

Sachdeva questioned how Bharadwaj, who is currently voicing concerns about the CM’s husband interacting with officials, has remained silent regarding Kejriwal’s endorsement of Jitender Tomar’s wife, who was embroiled in a fake degree scandal, to contest elections and secure an MLA position?

He stated that the BJP would like Kejriwal, Atishi, and Bharadwaj to clarify: Is it not true that during the Kejriwal administration, officials referred to his wife as “Madam CM” in official documents?

“If that’s not the case, why did Mr. Kejriwal never take action against the officers who labeled his wife 'Madam CM' in government files?” he queried.

He also sought clarification on why journalist Bhupendra Chaubey was frequently spotted around Atishi's office or residence during her tenure as CM. Are their relationships connected?

Sachdeva concluded by stating that while we believe politics should serve the populace, it is regrettable that even in power, AAP leaders have confined politics to blame games.

Now, even in opposition, they continue to diminish the quality of political dialogue, he remarked.
