Are AAP Leaders Misleading the Public About Delhi’s Air Quality?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Nov 3 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed his astonishment on Monday regarding the unfounded claims being made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders concerning Delhi's pollution. He criticized their opposition to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's plan to campaign in the upcoming Bihar elections.
Sachdeva also targeted former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and former Minister and current Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj for disseminating misleading information about pollution and questioning the Delhi CM's visit to Bihar.
He noted that while the pollution levels in Delhi are somewhat troubling, residents recognize that the city's air quality has seen improvements in recent months.
The Delhi BJP President remarked that before criticizing the BJP Chief Minister and other ministers for their campaign trips to Bihar, AAP's Delhi President should explain the long absence of Sisodia over recent months.
Sachdeva stated that Bharadwaj is notorious for fabricating statements. Yet, he should clarify why, when Delhi's average AQI was approximately 310 on Monday, he was endorsing an organization that labels Delhi as a gas chamber.
He further pointed out that on November 3 in previous years, the AQI levels were recorded at 382, 468, and 450 for 2022, 2023, and 2024 respectively. Where was Bharadwaj's concern then when AAP was in governance?
Sachdeva emphasized that the BJP administration is a responsible government, with the Environment Minister actively collaborating with experts to combat air pollution.
He added that it is common for Chief Ministers and Ministers from various states to travel and campaign during elections.
However, with Bharadwaj raising this issue, he should answer—if CM Gupta's trip to Bihar during the pollution season is questionable, what does he have to say about Punjab’s Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann visiting Gujarat amidst flood concerns?
Sachdeva also challenged the Leader of Opposition in Delhi, Atishi, regarding her extended stay in Goa, and questioned former Environment Minister Gopal Rai's prolonged election campaign in Gujarat.
