Why is Delhi BJP Chief Criticizing AAP Leader Saurabh Bharadwaj's Theatrics on Pollution?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 21 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, sharply criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Sunday for engaging in theatrics and issuing trivial remarks about a grave issue like pollution.
He pointed out that the suffering faced by the residents of Delhi today stems from the negligence of Arvind Kejriwal's administrations in both Delhi and Punjab.
BJP leader Sachdeva remarked that during Bharadwaj's tenure as Health Minister in the Kejriwal-led government, the AAP administration compromised the health of the citizens.
“Over the past decade, no substantial efforts were made toward pollution control. His term as Health Minister saw incidents of fake medicine distribution in Delhi's government hospitals, and Mohalla Clinics morphed into hubs of corruption,” he stated.
The Delhi BJP President expressed regret that when in power, the former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal and ex-Minister Bharadwaj failed to address the pollution causes, and now, in opposition, they resort to making absurd claims.
Sachdeva asserted that both Kejriwal and Bharadwaj are damaging their reputations among the public by not acting responsibly while in office and now making inconsequential remarks about pollution.
“It would be more beneficial for Kejriwal and Bharadwaj to engage in serious work rather than indulging in sarcastic theatrics regarding pollution. The focus should be on assisting the people of Delhi and the BJP-led government in mitigating pollution,” he added.
On Saturday, Delhi Health and Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh vehemently criticized opposition leaders for indulging in petty politics and launching “personal and derogatory” attacks against Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
While addressing reporters, he mentioned that instead of debating the achievements and initiatives of CM Gupta’s tenure, opposition leaders are focused on personal accusations and derogatory remarks against female leaders via posters.
He remarked that the citizens of Delhi cannot be misled by such trivial politics and unfounded accusations.
“Had the previous opposition governments genuinely prioritized the welfare of Delhi residents, the circumstances today would be considerably improved. Unfortunately, their focus has been on their own political gains rather than the public,” stated Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh.
He noted that using posters to make disparaging comments aimed at a female Chief Minister (Rekha Gupta) is not just regrettable but entirely condemnable.
“Such petty and cheap politics against a woman is unacceptable in any democratic society,” he declared.
