New Delhi, Dec 22 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed on Monday that it is regrettable that the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, Saurabh Bharadwaj, in his efforts to tarnish the reputation of the BJP-led Delhi government regarding pollution, has resorted to blatant falsehoods.
The ruling party also criticized AAP for disseminating inaccurate information on dengue cases in Delhi, labeling it as an act of political corruption that exaggerates the number of patients through distorted figures.
The reported number of 3,746 dengue cases cited by AAP is identical to the data presented in Parliament, but it refers to individuals treated for dengue in Delhi hospitals, with nearly two-thirds—approximately 2,300 patients—not being residents of the city.
“While these patients may have received treatment in Delhi, they sought care only after their conditions deteriorated,” noted a spokesperson for the Delhi BJP.
Regarding pollution, Sachdeva stated that the public is well aware of how Bharadwaj and other AAP leaders routinely engage in lies, deceit, and theatrics concerning pollution issues.
“Encouraged by Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP National Convenor, Bharadwaj and MLA Kuldeep Kumar mislead the public by falsely labeling a sludge treatment plant of an STP—constructed by their own administration—as a brick kiln, claiming that its operation violates anti-pollution regulations,” Sachdeva stated.
On Monday, Bharadwaj attempted to mislead the citizens of Delhi by asserting that the crucial STP plant at Kondli, inaugurated by him three years ago when he served as the Delhi Jal Board Minister, along with its small sludge treatment unit, is breaching GRAP-4 restrictions.
Sachdeva questioned whether it is not true that while he was a minister, he himself inaugurated the Kondli STP plant in 2023 and deemed it essential, allowing it to function during winter pollution periods in both 2023 and 2024.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Bharadwaj understands very well that STP plants and their associated sludge treatment facilities are so advanced that they emit only steam, which might resemble smoke but is not actual smoke; such facilities are permitted to operate even under GRAP-4.
It would be prudent for Kejriwal to restrain his leaders from engaging in this malicious propaganda; otherwise, the people of Delhi, who have already ousted them from power, will soon push them to the political sidelines.
