BJP Intensifies Criticism of Delhi CM Atishi Over Bungalow Saga

New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) The political atmosphere in Delhi became increasingly fraught on Wednesday as the BJP ramped up its scrutiny of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) concerning the controversial 'bungalow for CM' issue. Virendra Sachdeva, the state president of the BJP, directed sharp inquiries at Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, mockingly asking, 'Toh aakhir iss devi ko kitne bungalow chahiye?'
In an interview with IANS, Sachdeva pressed for transparency, inquiring, 'Whose bungalow is this? This government residence where 'Atishi' is inscribed — whose property is it?'
'If it was assigned to her, why is she requesting the 'Sheesh Mahal'? If it was being offered to her, why didn’t she accept it sooner? How many bungalows is a Chief Minister entitled to in Delhi? She resides in Kalkaji, yet she refuses to disclose who occupies this one. Even local residents are mum, although posters outside indicate its resident. So, how many bungalows does this 'devi' require? We are seeking an explanation.'
Sachdeva also responded to BJP leaders' suggestions to convert the 'Sheesh Mahal' into a museum, stating, 'I propose that the 'Sheesh Mahal' be declared a museum of corruption. If the BJP takes charge in Delhi, no BJP Chief Minister will inhabit that Sheesh Mahal.'
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the 'Sheesh Mahal' and 'bungalow for CM' debate is becoming pivotal in the political discourse.
The AAP has countered by labeling the Prime Minister's residence as the 'Raj Mahal,' alleging that the BJP has lavishly spent on it to the tune of Rs 2,700 crore.
This exchange between 'Sheesh Mahal' and 'Raj Mahal' illustrates the intense political rivalry, with the AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, along with the BJP and Congress, all preparing for the elections on February 5.
The most recent incident occurred when AAP leaders, including Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj, were barred by the police from entering the official residence of the Delhi Chief Minister. The AAP had invited the media for a tour of the premises to counter the BJP’s criticisms regarding the Chief Minister’s residence.
With just a month remaining before the Delhi Assembly elections, the political skirmish over 'Sheesh Mahal', 'Raj Mahal,' and the contest for the capital continues to escalate.
