Mumbai, March 14 (NationPress) The Board of Directors of Tata Communications Ltd has officially appointed N. Ganapathy Subramaniam as the new Chairman on Friday.
Subramaniam initially joined the Board as a non-executive director on December 2, 2021.
With over 40 years of experience in Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) and the broader Indian IT sector, he transitioned from his role as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at TCS in May 2024.
According to the company's announcement, the Board appointed N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director, to the position of Chairman effective from March 14, 2025, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
The company noted, "He has played a strategic role in several landmark initiatives that TCS undertook across banking, telecom, and public services globally." It added that he possesses extensive expertise in technology, operations, product development, business transformation, and change management.

Moreover, he is an active member of the Institute Body at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology and is the president of the Executive Committee at The Society for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children in Mumbai.
Tata Communications reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 236 crore for the quarter ending December 2024, marking a remarkable year-on-year increase of 424 percent. Last year, the same quarter showed a net profit of Rs 45 crore.
A regulatory filing revealed that the company’s operational revenues reached Rs 5,798 crore for the quarter ending December 2024, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 3.8 percent compared to Rs 5,587.78 crore reported in the same quarter of 2023-24.
Sequentially, Tata Communications experienced a 4 percent rise in net profit in the October-December quarter, up from Rs 227 crore in the July-September quarter. Additionally, revenue grew by 1.2 percent sequentially from Q2 to Q3 FY25.
