New Delhi, July 24 (NationPress) The Chairman of Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran, has announced that the primary focus of the company is to enhance its manufacturing capabilities in semiconductors, electric vehicles, digital platforms, and financial services.
In the annual report for 2025, he highlighted that Tata Electronics, which generates an impressive annual revenue of Rs 66,000 crore, is working on establishing a vertically integrated ecosystem aimed at technology hardware and semiconductor production.
The group has embarked on its semiconductor venture with the 28nm node and intends to advance towards sophisticated chip manufacturing.
"Collaborating with TCS, startups, and various ecosystem partners, we are committed to preparing India for the GenAI era. We will construct data centers, train our workforce in cutting-edge AI tools, build industry-leading partnerships, and provide solutions through a human+AI framework to revolutionize businesses," Chandrasekaran emphasized.
Tata Capital, the financial services division of Tata Sons, is slated to initiate its initial public offering within the next six to eight weeks.
In the realm of electric vehicles, Agratas is working on developing 60 GWh of battery capacity across facilities located in both India and the UK, bolstered by research and development centers in Bengaluru and Oxford, as informed by Chandrasekaran.
In terms of batteries and renewable energy, he stated that capacity expansion must coincide with reliable offtake, which is essential for achieving sound financial returns.
Regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the new initiatives focus on minimizing landfill waste, developing biodiversity strategies, and replenishing the freshwater sources we utilize.
"I am delighted to announce that Tata Electronics is making significant strides – currently employing over 65,000 individuals, with approximately 70 percent being women, and boasting an annual revenue of Rs 66,000 crore. This is remarkable in the capital-intensive technology hardware sector," he further remarked.
Tata Power has increased its renewable energy capacity fourfold over the past eight years. The subsidiary has now become a leader in India for rooftop solar and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with a total of 6,700 charging stations across the country.
Over the last five years, the Tata Group has seen its overall revenues grow by 1.9 times, net profits rise 3.6 times, and its leverage ratio decrease to 0.7 times.
