New Delhi, June 4 (NationPress) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal had a productive meeting on Wednesday with numerous Italian CEOs, exploring avenues to tap into India's innovation ecosystem for long-term growth.

Goyal kicked off his two-day official visit to Italy following his engagements in France, which were aimed at bolstering India–France economic ties.

He connected with Michele Poggipolini, CEO of Poggipolini S.p.A., a tech firm specializing in engineering and manufacturing. They engaged in meaningful discussions surrounding technology, innovation, and manufacturing prospects for the company in India, especially considering the country's expanding role in global supply chains,” the Union Minister shared on X.

Goyal also met Daniele Forni, General Director of SOL Group, an Italian multinational that leads in technical and medical gases production. They talked about strategies for enhancing the group’s footprint in India across vital sectors.

“It was a pleasure to meet Tomaso Carraro, Vice Chairman of Carraro Group, a global player in axles and transmission systems with significant operations in India. We discussed Carraro India's steady growth and future investment strategies, as well as ways to enhance their manufacturing capabilities and leverage India’s innovation ecosystem for sustained progress,” Goyal added.

During his visit, he also met Marco Nocivelli, CEO of EPTA Group, who specializes in commercial refrigeration.

“Given India's swiftly growing retail and cold chain sectors, we deliberated on how EPTA can capitalize on this opportunity to contribute to sustainable refrigeration solutions in India,” Goyal stated.

Furthermore, Goyal connected with Stefano Toschi, CEO of Toschi Vignola Srl, a food and beverage firm, to explore potential investment opportunities and avenues for establishing a manufacturing facility in India.

“I had a fruitful meeting with Giorgio Girondi, Founder and Chairman of UFI Filters Group, which specializes in filtration technology and thermal management solutions. We discussed their expansion plans in India and their commitment to strengthening the 'Make In India' initiative for both domestic and international automotive and industrial markets,” Goyal remarked.
