Mumbai, Nov 1 (NationPress) With the recent GST reforms enhancing festive demand across the nation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a staggering total of 220,894 units sold in October, marking its highest monthly sales volume to date.
Domestic sales soared to an all-time high of 180,675 units. Sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reached 8,915 units, while exports amounted to 31,304 units, as revealed by the company.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd also showed impressive performance, with total sales in domestic and international markets reaching 61,295 units in October, a remarkable 26.5 percent increase from 48,423 units in the same month last year, according to the company's statement.
The surge was driven by SUVs, with over 47,000 units sold last month, capturing an impressive 77 percent share of monthly sales. Furthermore, the company achieved its highest-ever electric vehicle (EV) wholesales, totaling 9,286 units, reflecting a significant 73 percent year-on-year increase due to strong retail demand that drove record monthly registrations.
The momentum was further bolstered by robust demand for the Nexon, which experienced an outstanding 50 percent YoY growth thanks to its popular multi-powertrain offerings. In addition, the Harrier and Safari together set a new milestone with 7,000 units sold.
The Tata Group's automotive division also enjoyed a record festive season, delivering over one lakh vehicles between Navratri and Diwali, showcasing an impressive 33 percent year-on-year growth.
On another note, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported total sales of 69,894 units for October 2025, which included 53,792 units in domestic sales and 16,102 units in exports.
Hyundai recorded over a 4 percent month-on-month increase in domestic sales at 53,792 units, compared to 51,547 units in September. However, exports saw a 14 percent decline month-on-month, dropping from 18,800 units in the previous month to 16,102 units.
During the reviewed month, the Hyundai CRETA and VENUE achieved their second-highest combined monthly sales, totaling 30,119 units, according to the automaker.
