New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate ‘SEMICON India - 2025’ today at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, with the goal of enhancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
This three-day conference, taking place from September 2 to 4, will emphasize the creation of a strong, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in India.
Attendees can expect sessions covering the advancement of the Semicon India Programme, semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging initiatives, infrastructure preparedness, smart manufacturing, research and development innovations, artificial intelligence, investment prospects, and state-level policy execution, among other topics.
Over 350 exhibiting companies from 33 countries and regions, alongside an unprecedented number of global stakeholders, will take part in SEMICON India 2025, an event co-organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the worldwide semiconductor industry association.
This event will unite industry leaders, innovators, academic institutions, government representatives, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and technological advancements throughout the entire supply chain.
In a span of just four years since the inception of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) in 2021, India has successfully transitioned its semiconductor ambitions from concept to reality. To bolster this vision, the government has introduced a substantial Rs 76,000 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with nearly Rs 65,000 crore already allocated.
SEMICON India 2025 aims to showcase India’s transformative role in the global semiconductor landscape.
The event will feature approximately 350 exhibitors, an anticipated 15,000 visitors, 6 country roundtables, 4 country pavilions, and participation from 9 Indian states, creating South Asia's largest platform for the semiconductor and electronics sectors.
Moreover, the event will spotlight India’s semiconductor advancements, highlighting 10 approved strategic projects such as High-Volume Fabs, Advanced Packaging, Compound Semiconductors, OSATs, and government initiatives supporting research and start-ups.
Under the theme “Building the Next Semiconductor Powerhouse,” this gathering promises valuable insights into innovations and trends in critical areas including Fabs, Advanced Packaging, smart manufacturing, AI, supply chain management, sustainability, workforce development, designs, and start-ups.
To date, three editions of SEMICON India have been successfully conducted: in 2022 (Bengaluru), 2023 (Gandhinagar), and 2024 (Greater Noida).
