New Delhi, Sep 14 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a significant nationwide initiative, ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, on September 17, as announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This program coincides with the 8th edition of 'Poshan Maah' and aims to enhance healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescent girls, and children throughout India.

The campaign is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).

Through this initiative, the Health Ministry will deliver preventive, promotive, and curative health services via health camps and facilities nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Women and Child Development Ministry will engage women and girls through Anganwadi centres and facilitate extensive nutrition counseling and recipe demonstrations as part of Poshan Maah.

The Abhiyaan is aimed at bolstering the screening, early detection, and treatment of ailments like anaemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, and other non-communicable diseases.

It will also prioritize maternal, child, and adolescent health, offering services such as antenatal care, immunization, menstrual hygiene education, and mental health counseling.

Additionally, the campaign will promote healthy lifestyles, improved diets, obesity prevention, and voluntary blood donation initiatives.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda stated that the program is designed to provide better access, quality care, and awareness for women and children throughout the country.

He invited private hospitals and healthcare providers to participate, describing it as a 'Jan Bhagidari Abhiyaan' that requires a collective effort.

From September 17 to October 2, over one lakh health camps will be organized at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, community health centres, district hospitals, and other government facilities.

Public representatives, including central and state ministers, MPs, and local leaders, will engage in the campaign.

Grassroots workers such as ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, SHGs, and youth volunteers will be crucial in mobilizing community participation.

The campaign will encompass specialist services in areas like gynaecology, paediatrics, dental care, dermatology, eye and ENT care, and mental health, with support from AIIMS, defense and railway hospitals, ESIC centres, and private healthcare facilities.

Screening for cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease will be a primary focus, especially in tribal regions.

Nutrition counseling, healthy recipe demonstrations, Annaprashan ceremonies, and the Eat Right initiative of FSSAI will promote awareness regarding balanced diets.

Digital health services will also be emphasized, facilitating enrollment in Ayushman Bharat schemes, ABHA health IDs, and grievance redressal helpdesks at the camps.

Services from AYUSH, including yoga and Ayurveda consultations, will be a part of the initiative. Youth engagement will be encouraged through cultural events, awareness campaigns, and pledges for blood and organ donation.

Various ministries, including Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Education, Youth Affairs, Tribal Affairs, Railways, Defence, and Ayush, will collaborate to ensure this initiative is a comprehensive government and societal effort.
