Hyderabad, Jan 20 (NationPress) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed its collaboration with Telangana for the creation of Bharat Future City, envisioned as a premier global urban center, as stated by the Telangana government.
During the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met with the 'Telangana Rising' delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Touq Al Marri expressed enthusiasm for partnering with Telangana, proposing the formation of a joint task force comprising officials from both regions to expedite the project's execution, as per a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The discussion included potential collaborations concerning major infrastructure initiatives in the state, particularly the Bharat Future City.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, outlining a transformative plan aimed at turning the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
He highlighted the vast potential for growth within the Bharat Future City project, which will be India’s first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City. Encompassing 30,000 acres, the city is intended to serve as a multifunctional, sustainable urban-industrial zone featuring dedicated areas for AI, education, health, industry, residential, and entertainment sectors.
The Chief Minister noted that global firms like Marubeni and Semcorp are already engaged in the project. Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Reliance Group's Vantara to establish a new zoo within Future City.
Moreover, the Saudi-based industrial conglomerate Expertise has shown interest in collaborating with Telangana's Young India Skills University (YISU).
Mohammed Ashif, the President & CEO of Expertise, met the Telangana delegation.
This company, with a significant presence in the Middle East, specializes in providing plant maintenance across skilled labor-intensive sectors, including petrochemical, oil and gas, fertilizer, steel, cement, water treatment, and power generation.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy explained that YISU was founded to effectively connect education with employment by offering industry-driven curricula and practical experience.
Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasized that Telangana is cultivating a future-ready workforce through foundational education, advanced skill training, apprenticeships, mentorship, and entrepreneurship, aligned with the vision for 2047 and the objective to achieve a $3 trillion economy.
The Saudi company proposed a partnership with YISU to meet its demand for recruiting approximately 5,000 skilled individuals per year.
Additionally, the Telangana government revealed that Google has expressed interest in collaborating with Telangana to address challenges related to agriculture and climate change.
