New Delhi, March 19 (NationPress) The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) has reached a remarkable milestone of over 100 crore API transactions, solidifying its status as a transformative force in India's logistics industry.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal highlighted that this achievement signifies a crucial advancement towards creating a world-class, technology-oriented logistics framework that drives industrial progress under the Make in India initiative and propels the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

"This accomplishment embodies our Prime Minister’s aspiration for a smooth logistics ecosystem that enhances Ease of Doing Business and positions Bharat as a leading player in global trade and manufacturing. We are dedicated to enhancing ULIP’s functionalities to make Indian logistics more agile, resilient, and competitive on a global scale," the minister remarked.

By addressing essential data gaps, ULIP facilitates automation, real-time cargo tracking, and simplified regulatory compliance, offering advantages to businesses across various sectors. With an average of 1 crore API transactions processed weekly, ULIP is driving broad adoption and democratizing access to logistics data, ensuring fair opportunities for businesses of all sizes. This digital transformation is altering the competitive environment, dismantling monopolistic practices, and empowering MSMEs, start-ups, and large corporations, as stated in an official announcement.

ULIP has also made a significant impact on the manufacturing sector, with companies such as Prism Johnson, Asian Paints, and Tata Steel utilizing its APIs to enhance transporter verification, automate operations, and fortify supply chains.

Moreover, ULIP’s multi-modal APIs for road, rail, ocean, and air transport deliver real-time shipment ETAs, ensuring timely inventory management and cost efficiencies for manufacturers.

In addition to logistics improvements, ULIP is promoting sustainability initiatives, assisting businesses like Century Plywoods and TCIL in selecting greener transportation methods, reducing emissions, and aligning with India’s carbon reduction objectives.

Transporters and logistics service providers, including Cuttack Carriers, Road Pilot, and Intugine, are facilitating digital documentation, automated gate processes, and seamless freight movement, minimizing delays and congestion at logistics hubs.

Alongside private sector partners, state and central government agencies are utilizing the digital platform for data-driven decision-making.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the National Logistics Policy (NLP) on September 17, 2022, to establish an integrated, efficient, and technology-driven logistics sector, ULIP has actively advanced this vision since its launch, connecting 43 systems from 11 ministries through 129 APIs, with more than 1,300 registered companies enrolled.
