Bengaluru, March 3 (NationPress) India's job market is undergoing a substantial transformation, with job opportunities for women increasing by 48 percent in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to a recent report released on Monday.

This impressive growth is primarily fueled by demand in critical sectors such as information technology (IT), banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, and healthcare. There is also a surge in the need for specialized skills in emerging technology roles.

The report from foundit (previously known as Monster APAC & ME) indicates that around 25 percent of the positions available for women in 2025 are targeted at freshers. This trend reveals a strong demand for early-career professionals, particularly in fields like IT, human resources (HR), and marketing.

When considering experience levels, the highest proportion of job opportunities for women is in the 0-3 years category (53 percent), followed by 4-6 years (32 percent). The IT/computer software sector remains dominant, accounting for 34 percent of women's employment, the report noted.

Additionally, significant job openings for women are emerging in sectors such as recruitment, staffing, BFSI, and advertising, public relations, and events.

“The Indian job landscape is rapidly changing, providing enhanced access and prospects for women, especially in high-growth industries and tech-oriented roles,” stated Anupama Bhimrajka, VP-Marketing at foundit.

She also highlighted a 55 percent rise in work-from-office arrangements, indicating a shift in employer priorities.

“Despite ongoing challenges in areas like salary equality and changing work-mode preferences, the overall outlook for women's participation in the workforce by 2025 is very positive,” Bhimrajka added.

Interestingly, the participation of women in engineering and production roles has also seen an increase, rising from 6 percent to 8 percent over the last year. This growth underscores a heightened need for specialized expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, and cloud computing.

Geographically, the report reveals that more women are securing employment in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The proportion of women's jobs in cities like Nashik, Surat, Coimbatore, and Jaipur has surged to 41 percent, compared to 59 percent in Tier-1 cities.

The salary distribution for women indicates that the majority (81 percent) earn within the 0-10 lakh annual salary range, followed by 11 percent in the 11-25 lakh bracket, while 8 percent earn more than 25 lakh.

Another promising trend is the increase of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, with women constituting 44 percent of STEM graduates in India, as reported.
