Mumbai, June 21 (NationPress) Yoga serves as the pivotal key to realizing the vision of a healthy India by 2047, asserted Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Saturday.
During the 11th International Yoga Day celebration, Goyal, the Member of Parliament for North Mumbai, attended numerous Yoga camps organized throughout his constituency and commended the vibrant participation of local residents.
He stressed that true development is contingent upon the health of its citizens.
“The aspiration for a developed India by 2047 can only materialize if the populace maintains excellent health, and yoga is the pivotal key to that objective,” Goyal expressed, participating in a Yoga session for the first time at the Kanheri Caves within Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
In his address, he noted that this marks the 11th International Yoga Day celebrated under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is largely due to the Prime Minister’s dedicated efforts that Yoga Day has achieved international acclaim.
“Yoga is a treasure of India’s ancient heritage, and recognizing its significance, the global community is embracing this traditional Indian health practice. It is a source of great pride for Indians that we have introduced Yoga, a practice that fosters both mental tranquility and physical wellness, to the world,” Goyal remarked.
“Yoga not only provides physical and mental advantages but also aids in achieving balance in life. The entire world is now reaping the rewards of this traditional Indian wellness discipline,” he continued.
Yoga Day was commemorated in various locations across North Mumbai, including Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kanheri Caves, Charkop, Kandivali, Gopinath Munde Shakti Ground in Dahisar, and Poinsur Gymkhana in Malad.
“Uttar (North) Mumbai is transforming into Uttam (best) Mumbai, and the spirit of widespread celebration of International Yoga Day illustrates that Uttar Mumbai is also at the forefront of health awareness,” he stated.
He also highlighted the global significance of India’s emerging leadership.
“The world is observing India and PM Modi in terms of trade, industry, and global peace. India has positioned itself as a new engine of growth, prepared to elevate the world to new heights. On behalf of 140 crore Indians, I wish to convey PM Modi’s message to the world: ‘One Earth, One Health’—only this vision can guarantee a healthy and resilient planet,” Goyal concluded.
