‘Aadujeevitham’ Receives Nomination at the 72nd Golden Reel Awards

Chennai, Jan 7 (NationPress) Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has been nominated together with fellow sound designer Vijay Kumar for the highly regarded 72nd Golden Reel Awards for their outstanding contributions to one of Malayalam cinema's landmark films, ‘Aadujeevitham’ ('The Goat Life').

The Golden Reel Awards are awarded by the esteemed organization, the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE). This award is recognized as one of the most coveted honors in the field of sound editing.
'Aadujeevitham' or 'The Goat Life' will be vying against several international films such as 'Emilia Perez', 'The Girl with the Needle', and 'Kneecap' in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Feature International.
'Aadujeevitham', starring actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, was directed by the renowned Malayalam filmmaker Blessy and is based on a novel of the same name by Benyamin. The narrative, inspired by real events, chronicles the journey of Najeeb, a migrant from Kerala who sought employment in Saudi Arabia but ended up as a shepherd in the desert due to a series of unfortunate circumstances. After enduring harsh labor, Najeeb eventually managed to escape his desert captivity and return to India.
The film boasts a musical score by A R Rahman, cinematography by K U Mohanan, and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
'Aadujeevitham', which received widespread acclaim upon its release last year, captured a total of nine awards at the 54th Kerala State Film Awards. It won accolades in multiple categories, including Best Director (Blessy), Best Actor (Prithviraj), and Best Sound Mixing (Resul Pookutty and Sarath Mohan).
