Mumbai, Nov 28 (NationPress) Actor Ajay Devgn celebrated an impressive 28 years since the release of his iconic film “Ishq” with a touching homage that honored both the film’s enduring legacy and his lasting romance with Kajol.

The actor fondly reflected on their journey, noting how the cherished 1997 blockbuster holds significance not only for its commercial triumph but also for the relationship it helped to solidify between him and Kajol. On Instagram, Ajay posted a memorable still from the movie, alongside a wedding photograph and a family picture. His caption read, “Jaise hua acha hi hua hai... #28YearsOfIshq.”

The first image included the phrase “Ishq Hua,” the wedding photo displayed “Kaise Hua,” and the final family picture portrayed the couple with their children, labeled “Acha Hua.”

Directed by Indra Kumar, “Ishq” starred Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Juhi Chawla, and Kajol in lead roles, with Dalip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Johnny Lever, and Mohan Joshi in supporting roles. Released on November 28, 1997, “Ishq” achieved remarkable box office success, grossing over Rs 500 million globally and ranking as the third highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

In the movie, the chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Kajol was a standout feature.

For those who may not know, Kajol and Ajay first met on the set of their 1995 film “Hulchul”, a project Kajol took on after the tragic passing of lead actress Divya Bharti. They dated for nearly four years, maintaining a low profile about their relationship. On February 24, 1999, they exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their home in Mumbai, followed by a two-month honeymoon in Europe.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Nysa, on April 20, 2003, and seven years later, on September 13, 2010, they became parents again with the birth of their son, Yug.

During her appearance on “No Filter Neha” in 2018, Kajol disclosed that many were skeptical about her marriage to Ajay and recounted how she eventually persuaded her father to support her decision. She shared, “Nobody wanted us to get married except for our families. Even my family was uncertain. My dad (the late filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee) didn’t speak to me for a week after I said I wanted to get married. He was like, ‘Why do you want to get married? You’re so young and your career is thriving,’ and I responded, ‘But I want to get married!’”
